The CYBE® House was designed based on a chosen region: India. However, this relief shelter design is not limited to be used in this specific region.

A very family-oriented culture; people love to invite guests home for gatherings.

The most frequent and devastating natural disaster is a flood. 158 floods occurred and more than 600 millions Indians were affected in the last century.

More than 700 thousand Indians were internally displaced.
1. Sunroom & Open Living Space
Sunroom with sliding doors and an open living space with flexible fabric wall which can partition the open interior space to create a configurable private space.
2. Water Collection System
Water collects from the Y-shaped roof and powder-coated aluminum U-beam.
3. Self-watering planter
A plater outside the kitchen window for easy access planted food and herbs.
4. Two mirrored houses
The same structure can be joined together for bigger families.
5. Ventilated Kitchen
Aa tandooi oven is installed in the kitchen and water is accessible inside the house.
6. Strong Roof with Skylight
The roof is built with TuffSpan (a composite plastic material) so it can also be used as higher ground for emergency escape from floods.
7. Structural Foundation
The foundation is built on stilts 1.5 meter above ground to prevent flood and insect damage.

Using a cost-effective roto-molded composite plastic, the slotted stilt system is height-adjustable and connects to the floor joist with ease.

Water collected by the Y-shaped roof and U-beam is stored in the foundation stilts.
8. Solar Panel
A solar panel with battery to store power allows LED lighting to be used at night.
Manufacturing, Shipping & Construction
Standardized panel size ( 4’ x 8’ )minimizes wasted wood and allows production efficiency.

Light weight panels can be fitted into standard size containers ( 8’ x 8’6” x 24’ ) and allow easy transportation to construction site.

Ready to assemble wall and floor panels.

International non-governmental organizations (NGO); eg, the Red Cross
